The Cumbrian Coast Fellsman caused a lot of CONFUSION and DELAY today - it set fires along the line in over half a dozen places, including Eskmeals Viaduct, which meant that the Cumbrian Coast Line was closed. The steam loco 48151 Gauge O Guild was dumped in Sellafield sidings and further motive power in the form of 20301 Max Joule, 20305 and 37667 hauled the train to Barrow, from where West Coast Railways' 47760 hauled it back to Carnforth!

Utilising bogies from a Hornby 00 gauge (1:72 scale) Mk. 3 TSO coach, I have begun to construct a primitive replica of the Ratty Brake Saloon No. 112 of 1970. Originally numbered 113, it has Severn-Lamb bogies, is 23' 1.5" in length, 3' 9.5" in width, has 16 passenger seats, is equipped with a hand brake and piped air brakes and was built by Edmund Crow. It also has a heater for winter working.
